The Franconia Inn

The Inn, situated on 107 acres in Easton Valley, affords a breathtaking view of Mount Lafayette, Franconia Notch, and the Franconia and Kinsman Ranges of the White Mountains. It is an Inn in the fine tradition of old New England hostelries; the fourth for the Morris family. It is operated by third-generation innkeepers.

The decor is comfortable and inviting. The oak paneled private library and the spacious living room are warm and cozy; both have active, handsome fireplaces. Of the two dining rooms, the first, small, intimate, candlelight, with it's own fireplace; the other, with a Bermuda ceiling, is airy and boisterous. Each offers views of the mountains. The Inn also boasts two porches: The front porch faces east - to the sunrise over Cannon Mountain; the back porch faces west - where the sun sets behind Sugar Hill.

The thirty-five guest rooms, recently renovated, are decorated simply yet beautifully. All have private baths. Most have double beds, but queen- and king-size beds are also available. Families and close friends may prefer a "Family-Suite" - two rooms connected by one common bath. The "Inn-Suite" includes a bedroom with a queen bed, a living room with fireplace, and a balcony. A "Honeymoon Suite" with jacuzzi tub is also available.

The Inn's dining room is the evening centerpiece, where unpretentious elegance is the rule. Diners seated at tables with flickering candles view the White Mountains through dozens of small-paned windows. Soft tones of Mozart and Bach set the mood for a leisurely dinner of "Elegant American Cuisine." Downstairs is the Rathskeller Lounge, movie room, hot tub, and game room. Rates include breakfast (in bed if you like!) and dinner.

The Inn's location provides easy accessibility to the villages of Franconia, Sugar Hill and Easton, as well as the charm of quiet country life.
